Tadashi Arai – Associate Director

Tadashi has extensive technical and construction expertise and is a registered architect in both the UK and Japan. Tadashi worked on the LSE Centre Building, an academic building which incorporates a new public square. He was a key member of the LSE team since the competition stage and led the interior team to deliver the Employers Requirements, as well as the RIBA Stage 4 package.

From 2013 - 2015 Tadashi was project architect for the Prouvé House where he adapted a 6m x 6m demountable house - conceived in 1944 as emergency housing – into an autonomous retreat which can be assembled anywhere in the world. He led the design team and collaborated closely with the client and the contractor and delivered the project from conception to completion.

The project was showcased at Art Basel in June 2015, and nominated for Wallpaper Life Enhancer Award in 2016, the Architizer A+Awards and the Consultancy and Engineering Award in 2017.

Tadashi also has an extensive range of experience with external packages, notably One Monte-Carlo, a high-end residential project in Monaco, where he was a joint facade package lead from 2012 to 2013, and Taoyuan Airport T3 a new airport terminal project in Taiwan, where he led the apron facade package and delivered the 50% detail design.

Tadashi also has experience working on large office buildings in London and New York, particularly at Canary Wharf and 3 World Trade Center. He has played an intrinsic role on the redevelopment of Hammersmith & Fulham Civic Campus, (H&FCC) which will provide new civic offices, residential accommodation, a cinema, shops and restaurants. Tadashi is currently working on an international convention centre in Zhengzhou, China.
